The M151 Ford MUTT replaced the M38 jeep in US service from 1959 through to the late 1990s until completely replaced by the HMVEE. The MUTT used a monocoque body and modern suspension giving better ride and higher cross country speed, which led to many accidents in it’s early service. It has been put to many uses as a communications vehicle and weapons carrier. It has been widely exported.
