The T72 was developed as a more economic alternative to the T64, it included many advanced features such as 125mm smoothbore gun and auto-loading system but used a rugged diesel engine and conventional suspension. This turned out as winning combination making the T72 one of the most produced tanks of all time. The improved A model appeared in 1979 with upgraded armour to the turret and a laser rangefinder. (Can be built with commander out or buttoned up).
