The rear deck well can be used to transport powerpacks and parts or tented in to serve as a field workshop. A 3t crane aids removal of damaged or failed parts.

A military specification Land Rover 88 was “lightened” and all absolutely un-necessary equipemnt removed bringing the weight to 1202kg. Manufactured from 1968-84. In continued in service even after the introduction of anti tank missiles up until the 1980s as a reserve weapon.
